What is a Zine?

A zine is, in fandom spaces, a collaborative effort of creatives to make a sort of art collection/book! The word “zine” comes from “magazine”. Everyone working on this project gets to make something for one (or more) of the pages of this zine!Every step will be explained within the project and you can always talk to a mod if you are unsure what you have to do or if you are doing things right. It’s always best to speak up if you don’t understand, because this makes things a lot less stressful for everyone involved!

Is shipping allowed?

Ships are not allowed in CQC Zines unless stated otherwise.CQC projects prefer to focus on non-ship elemets of the Sonic fandom There are a lot of fun aspects to delve into sonic characters relationship! (Family, friendships, enemies, rivalry, work-related, etc.)
We encorage contributors to explore that aspect of Sonic characters.Maybe even delve into why you like a specific ship (such as Sonadow's rivalry, or Shadamy's contrasting personalities) and portray that in a non-romantic way.

We highly encorage you organise and host your own Zine!the best thing about zines is finding your community and working together to make something you all enjoy! There have been many zines around Sonic ships, and CQC would love to see more organised and enjoyed by the community.CQC is not the be all and end all of Sonic zines, and nore should it be

Are OCs and AUs allowed?

OCs, AU content will vary depending on the project. For Zines focusing on a specific canon Sonic character CQC typically does not allow for OCs unless stated otherwise. AU content may be allowed in moderation or even be encouraged if it fits with the themes of the project.Make sure to always read the rules for each project before applying to know more what is/isn't allowed!

OCs are of course allowed when that is the topic of the project like Gotta follow my rainbow or Our World Adventure for example.We welcome all types of OCs for those projects: there are no cringe characters. We’d love to see your angel/demon hybrid, the sonadow fankid of the week or Silvers long lost brother! The only limitation to OC's is that they need to be made for the greater sonic universe.

What type of content is allowed?

Though it might vary with the themes between projects, CQC Zines typically won’t delve into darker topics or contain any more mature themes than a typical Sonic game/story. Nor allow ships between family members or minors/adults.Make sure to always read the rules for each project before applying to know more what is/isn't allowed!

What can go in a zine?

Anything as long as we can distribute it digitally somehow!
We've had 2D-Live models, Blender Models, Cross Stich Patterns, Board Games, Photographs, Music and more!!

Artists:
✔ A single page where all examples can be found;
   ✦ art blogs on tumblr (or artstation/cara) are okay, as long as there are no irrelevant text posts.
   ✦ you can use a google drive folder (make sure that link sharing is ENABLED.)
     ^{*this option is reccomended if you apply to multiple types of art at the same time!}
   ✦ you could also use a custom website host like carrd if you're thinking about applying to more projects like this in the future.
✔ Include examples of the quality we can expect you to deliver for the zine.
✔ Make sure that the type of drawings (full illustration, concept sketch, spot art, comic) reflects what you want to make for the zine.

All of these project are for fun, there is no need for industry level skill.We ask for examples to get a feel for what we have to work with and what will be put into the zine. We do not expect every piece of art or written stories to be made at a professional quality level.So please do not feel discouraged: Zines are a good challenge to try new things and improve!
